Easy Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl
All the flavor of an egg roll without the wrapper. This easy one-pan keto dinner is packed with seasoned ground meat, cabbage, and simple Asian-inspired flavors.

Nutrition is approximate and varies depending on the ground meat, soy sauce, and brands you use.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork, ground turkey, or ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil or olive oil, if needed
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
- 1 bag (about 14 ounces) coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage and carrots
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, optional
- Optional toppings: sriracha or other low-sugar hot sauce, extra green onion, sesame seeds, sliced avocado
Instructions
- 1
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 2
Add the ground pork, turkey, or chicken and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- 3
Add the chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until it begins to soften.
- 4
Stir in the garlic and ginger and cook for about 30 seconds.
- 5
Add the coleslaw mix to the skillet. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage becomes tender but still has a little texture.
- 6
Stir in the soy sauce or tamari, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and black pepper.
- 7
Cook for another 1–2 minutes so the flavors combine.
- 8
Remove from heat and top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve warm.
Tips and substitutions
- Make it faster: use a bag of pre-shredded coleslaw mix instead of chopping cabbage.
- Increase the protein: use 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds of ground meat and divide into four portions.
- Make it spicier: add sriracha, chili garlic sauce, or red pepper flakes.
- Meal prep: divide leftovers into containers and refrigerate for up to 3–4 days.
Feeding the whole family
Family members who are not eating keto can serve theirs over rice or noodles while the keto version stays exactly the same.
